Fitness for Your Aging Brain online classes being made free to Ontario Seniors starting September 2022.

We are pleased announce that it has received funding under the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program for its Fitness for Your Aging Brain virtual class series. The funds will be used to make these online classes available FREE to all 50+ residents of Ontario. This federal grants and contributions program supports projects that are led or inspired by seniors who are making a difference in the lives of others in their communities.

You only get one brain; you need to make it last a lifetime!

Fitness for Your Aging Brain is a unique program designed to keep older brains functioning at their best throughout a lifetime. Based on the latest neuroscience, geriatric and fitness research, the program combines four key components of maintaining a healthy brain as you age: cardiovascular exercise, mental challenge, rhythm-based movement, and simple fun. These educational and entertaining classes will get participants up, moving and ‘literally’ thinking on their feet.

Each video class contains a 5-minute Brain Health Tip on how participants can apply the latest healthy aging, scientific research to their daily lives. The other 55 minutes is devoted to a fun, energetic physical/mental exercise class designed specifically for older bodies and brains. The pre-recorded videos allow participants to do the classes on their own schedule and as many times as they wish.
